Heavily sprayed avocados

lovely avocados

A friend of mine just came back from a 6 month travel cum work holiday in New Zealand where she worked on a Avocado farm. She worked at a Kiwi farm later too, but that’s another story altogether. She told me that the  avocados there are heavily sprayed with chemicals before packing! Despite wearing gloves, all the workers complained that their hands felt itchy! That’s pretty scary! Cause I let my 2 kid eat so much Australian and New Zealand imported avos as baby food.

Raw avocado baby food, takes 5 mins to make!

So what to do?

Firstly, you don’t have to avoid eating avocados. They are packed full of good fats, full of minerals and vitamins. You just have to wash the fruit good before eating them, that’s all. There’s lots of organic fruit wash in the market for you to choose from nowadays. But if you are leery of that, a Facebook friend of mine told me that she uses baking soda to wash all her produce, so you can try that as well.

ps Here’s a useless but interesting info about avos. Any avos with marks will be put on the local market and the misshappen or out of grade pnes will go to the oil factory. So now you know!

Terri believes she had overcome the flu twice with GREEN FOODS. About six weeks ago both her husband and son suffered terribly from flu and fever. However, she did not catch it. Here’s what she said “I credit living green foods for my stronger immune system. I am very thankful to God for showing me the way out of lifelong illnesses and protection from seasonal flu and colds.”

Jasmin says,

If you are wondering how to make alkaline water, here’s a recommended dosages from the Arm and Hammer Company for colds and influenza back in 1925:
During the first day take six doses of half teaspoonful of Arm & Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at about two hour intervals.

During the second day take four doses of half teaspoonful of Arm and Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water, at the same intervals.

During the third day take two doses of half teaspoonful of Arm and Hammer Bicarbonate of Soda in glass of cool water morning and evening, and thereafter half teaspoonful in glass of cool water each morning until cold is cured.

Alternatively, you may want to purchase an alkaline water machine like the one I use.

A daily dose of baking soda could transform the lives of patients with failing kidneys, scientists claim.

A British team says the kitchen product – also known as sodium bicarbonate – can dramatically slow the progress of chronic kidney disease.

The household staple, used for baking, cleaning, bee stings and acid indigestion, is so effective it could prevent patients from needing dialysis, the results show.

Study leader Magdi Yaqoob, Professor of Renal Medicine at the Royal London Hospital, said: ‘It’s amazing.

‘This is the first randomised controlled study of its kind.’

‘A simple remedy like sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), when used appropriately, can be very effective.

Around three million people in the UK suffer from chronic kidney disease.

The condition ranges in severity from a mild degree of poor functioning to complete kidney failure.

Seriously affected patients may have to spend time each day on a dialysis machine which takes over the function of the kidneys.

An estimated 37,800 patients in the UK receive renal replacement therapy, which involves dialysis or a kidney transplant.

The cost of looking after kidney failure patients costs the NHS £30,000 a year – soaking up 3 per cent of the entire NHS budget.

Doctors have long wondered about the potential value of baking soda for c who commonly suffer from low bicarbonate levels, a condition called metabolic acidosis.

The pilot study conducted at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, was the first controlled test of the treatment in a clinical setting.

Researchers studied 134 patients with advanced chronic kidney disease and metabolic acidosis.

One group was randomly allocated a small daily dose of sodium bicarbonate in tablet form in addition to their usual care.

Over a period of one year, the kidney function of these patients declined about two thirds more slowly than that of individuals not given the tablets. In fact, their rate of decline was little different from what would be expected with normal ageing.
